We feature group treatment space (not private acupuncture treatments), a sliding scale between $15 and $40 with no greater than a $10 surcharge for the initial treatment. No proof of income is required or requested. Patients decide what they want to pay based on the honor system.
Research has shown for best results, acupuncture should be given once per day for acute conditions and three times per week for chronic conditions. Even treatment two times a week is far superior than one treatment per week. Once a week is usually the minimum required to make progress with any kind of health problem.
Nautilus Holistic Health community acupuncture provides high quality acupuncture treatment at affordable rates in a comfortable and laid back community setting.
We practice a style of acupuncture which mostly uses "distal" points in the hands, feet and head to treat problems anywhere in the body.
The purpose of a sliding scale is to separate the issues of money and treatment; We want you to come in often enough to really get better and stay better! Our goal is to make acupuncture available to you as often as you need it.
For your first visit, please arrive 15-20 minutes early in order to fill out a few forms and get oriented to the space. Your acupuncturist will meet with you at our intake table before your first treatment to discuss any concerns.
The acupuncturist will also take your pulses, look at your tongue and ask a few questions. She/He will then direct you to a comfortable recliner, place your needles, and leave you to rest. Your treatment may last anywhere from 20 minutes to half an hour depending on your needs.
The soothing atmosphere in the community room exists because patients are able to be relaxed and quiescent in the recumbent posture. This kind of collective quiescent is a powerful and precious natural way to vitalize qi. Please help us to maintain that by speaking in whispers and refrain from socializing while in the room.
Part of the success of this clinic lies in patients being proactive and responsible for their health, wellness and lifestyle.
Learning "the routine" and taking responsibility for appointments helps use to better treat and cultivate a healthful environment for the community. Re-scheduling and making payment happens at the front desk before each treatment, so you can relax and enjoy treatment. Please keep all personal belongings with you in the common room, and turn off your cell phone.
If you would like to speak to a practitioner one-on-one at any length, please let us know. If you want to have a substantial conversation, we will probably need to schedule that separately and might need to do it by phone.
