Dr. Ji

Dr. JI Dong Licensed Acupuncturist, O.M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Dong Ji began his studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Beijing Univrsity of Chinese Medicine
 in 1991 focusing on Chinese and Western medicine skills that are  widely used in the hospitals. His
 enthusiasm for research into the scientific basis of acupuncture, brought him to the prestigious
 Neuroscience Research Institute at Peking University, a s a Ph.D. student with Professor Ji-Sheng
 Han who researched the neurochemical basis of pain relief by acupuncture. After he earned his
doctoral degree in neuroscience, he came to the U.S. for further studies on disorders of the central
nervous system. He first went to the Institute of Psychiatric Research in Indianan University School of
 Medicine and then continued his study at the SALK institute in La Jolla. His studies were on alcohol
abuse and addiction  in these institutions. He also participated in the studies on several psychiatric
disorders  (i.e. depression, anxiety, drug addiction, binge drinking and eating) at a center in the
Scripps Institute in which these diseases have been systemically studied. Dr. Ji served as an
Editor-in-Chief for The World of Traditional Chinese Medicine and as an Assistant-Editor for Chinese
Journal of Pain Medicine in China. He is currently a Reviewer for Pharmacology, Biochemistry and
Behavior, a scientific journal published by Elsevier. After almost 20 years study in the field of Chinese
 medicine and related biomedical research, Dr. Ji believes that acupuncture might be the best way to
relieve those obstacles that are involved with human nervous system.


Leslie Deems

Leslie Deems, MSTOM, LAc.,
Leslie Deems, MSTOM, LAc., is an Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, NAET practitioner,
and lecturer. She holds a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is licensed by the
state of California. Currently, she works as part of a team of health care professionals
committed to integrative medicine at the Better Health and Wellness Center, located in
Poway, CA. Leslie began her training as a healer fourteen years ago in San Diego
 where she studied acupuncture, qigong, feng shui, nutrition and face reading. She has
been an apprentice of Dr. Richard Tan O.M.D. for the past nine years where she has had
extensive training in the Balance Method. 
Leslie has lectured at California State University, San Marcos, in San Diego on alternative
health care and facial diagnosis. Her manuscript on Face Reading is presently in the works.
 In her spare time, Leslie enjoys the outdoors, salsa dancing, and traveling. One of Leslie's
passions is alternative health care for animals. Leslie is dedicated to providing quality care in
a caring and compassionate way. In the pursuit of wellness, she believes it is best to use an
integrative approach, considering all options, while treating the whole person.


Mukunda Singh

Mukunda N. Singh, L.Ac. , Chinese Herbs & Reiki Practitioner
Mukunda N. Singh is a Licensed Acupuncturist and graduated with a Master's of Science in
Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. After learning the
Usui system of Reiki, he continued to study other forms of natural medicine and to broaden
his knowledge of the body's natural ability to heal itself. He takes a holistic approach to healing,
bringing balance to the whole person and activating their own ability to heal themselves.
While attending PCOM he specialized in Japanese acupuncture and interned at the San Diego
Hospice and Palliative Care Inpatient Facility. He also completed a study-abroad program in
China at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a focus on diabetes
and respiratory disorders. Mukunda's services range from Japanese acupuncture, Chinese
herbal consultations and moxibustion to reiki energy healing. Japanese acupuncture is a relaxing
way to remove energy blockages in the body, stimulate the health of the vital organs, and regain
 potential energy and vitality. Complementary to Japanese acupuncture, Chinese herbal
consultations include an in depth medical history and prescription of natural Chinese herbs
 and medicinals. In addition to these healing modalities moxibustion may also be used to warm
and activate acupuncture points. Lastly, reiki is a form of hands-on energy healing that allows the
recipient to enter a deep state of relaxation and natural healing.


Karla Miller

Karla Miller, L.Ac., MSTOM, Dipl. Ac. & C.H.

Karla is a California licensed (L.Ac.) and nationally board certified Acupuncturist and Chinese 
Herbalist (Dipl. Ac. and C.H). She has 10 years of experience specializing in the treatment of
acute pain, chronic pain management, recovery from orthopedic and sports related injuries,
and overall health maintenance. Her approach as a holistic practitioner is to tailor therapy to
individual patient needs by combining a wide range of therapeutic modalities to achieve optimal
health. Her interest in complementary medicine began while researching ethnobotany abroad for
the University of California. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, she
received her Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM)
from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. Currently, she practices acupuncture at
 Nautilus Holistic Health in a community setting and maintains a private practice in the beautiful
north San Diego coastal city of Encinitas. She enjoys the outdoors running, hiking, and biking the
local trails, cooking, playing in the ocean, and spending time with friends and family. Karla is
dedicated to improving her patients' state of wellness.


Chris Marrazzo


Chris Marrazzo RN, LAc.
Chris has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine. Chris is a Licensed Acupuncturist and has many years of post graduate training in
holistic health both in the US and in India. Chris practices Community Based Acupuncture and
is also an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Svastha Yoga Therapist and Teacher. Svastha Yoga comes
from the therapeutic yoga tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya. It promotes strength, flexibility, structural
alignment proper functioning of bodily systems, and most importantly mental wellness. Ear Acupuncture
is known more for and fantastic at reducing cravings to physical and psychologically addictive
substances. It also helps to assist patients who are making other types of challenging, health
promoting, lifestyle changes. Ear acupuncture (and acupuncture in general) is also a great tool
for reducing stress and promoting mental/emotional wellness thus helping to ease anxiety and
depression. Acupuncture works in many ways. From a modern medical perspective is said to
harmonize the autonomic nervous system. It reduces the state of €œfight or flight (sympathetic
nervous system dominance) that so many people find themselves stuck in today due to chronic
stress, anxiety, and tension. Acupuncture is also said to improves circulation, stimulate/harmonize
our immune system, and increase our natural (endogenous) endorphin levels thus improving mood,
promoting a sense of wellbeing, and reducing pain. Chris' training and practice as a nurse
specializing in mental health, his passion for affordable holistic healthcare, combined with his
knowledge of various ancient and holistic systems of health and healing (Acupuncure, Ayurveda,
Whole Food/Plant Based Nutrition, Herbalism, Yoga Therapy, and Yogic/Buddhist Psychology)
informs and broadens his vision and increases his ability to meet the health concerns of his patients.
Chris seeks to empower his clients to take charge of their own health by teaching them skills they
can put into practice daily to create balance and restore health.


Ayanna Cobb-Entin

Ayanna Cobb-Entin, ABT, HHP
Ayanna obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology at the University of California at Los Angeles.
After graduating from UCLA she began work as a Clinical Counselor for abused and sheltered children.
She’s spent the last 15 years with the loves of her life as a wife and mother, raising her four spirited
child beings and challenging her entrepreneurial spirit as a work from home mom with her life partner.
After completing her Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Asian Body Therapy at Pacific College
of Oriental Medicine she immediately put her Holistic background to outstanding service in the healing
arts, setting up shop in the beautiful coastal community of Encinitas as Owner and Manager of
Nautilus Holistic Health offering affordable community style acupuncture.
She coordinates an experienced team of licensed acupuncturists who favor the sustainable model
of affordable community acupuncture and has the only full time daily operations community
acupuncture clinic in San Diego North County. While she doesn't pound the table for God in her
healing arts, she does come at Chinese medicine, holistic health care and wellness from a decidedly
spiritual perspective. She is an avid student of Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Quantum physics, Art, Music, Life,
Love and Chinese medicine and a Master's student in Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental
Medicine, one of the nation’s top schools in integrative medicine.
She is nationally certified through NCBTMB and works with clients by appointment only specializing
in Eastern Nutrition for weight management, Thai Massage, Chi Nei Tsang, Myofascial Release,
Thai Massage, Jin Shin AcuTouch and Qi Gong to cultivate health. She is a catalyst for healing
and wellness and respects your individual challenges so you will not be asked to follow any
specific dogma, only protocols and principles that produce results and resonate with you.


   
Susie Orienstein-Turner Susie Orenstein-Turner, L.Ac, MPA
Susie received her Masters in Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine
(PCOM) in San Diego, and began her course work at the New York PCOM campus. Susie received
a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs where she
studied Health/Science Policy. She received her bachelor's degree from the Cornell University
School of Human Ecology where she studied Health and Human Services. Upon graduating,
she became a Policy Associate for a non-profit organization that focused on women's health issues.
Susie specializes in a wide range of conditions including but not limited to: pain relief, pre-natal care,
gynecology/menopause, attention deficit disorders, weight loss, addictions, depression, anxiety,
insomnia, digestive disorders and chronic fatigue. Susie was an instructor at Mueller College of
Holistic Studies in Normal Heights, San Diego where she taught Asian Body Work. She is currently an
instructor at the Natural Healing Institute in Encinitas where she teaches Acupuncture theory for
massage therapists and alternative health care practitioners.


Sherri Nyberg

Sherri-Anne Nyberg: LMT
Sherri-Anne is a Licensed Massage Therapist trained in a variety of eastern and western styles of
bodywork, from Thai Massage and Reiki, to Deep Tissue & Relaxation Massage. Over the past 5 years
she has consistently been practicing bodywork throughout North America.
Following her Degree in Environmental Science and Global Health at Northwestern University in
Chicago, Sherri-Anne became certified in Thai Massage at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
That following year she lived and breathed massage with intensive training in Mariposa, CA as a
Massage Therapist. There she learned a variety of styles and techniques including Swedish,
Deep Tissue, Reiki, Reflexology, Acupressure, Reflexology, and Zen-Shiatsu Chair Massage
among others. In 2008 Sherri-Anne trained in Neuromyology in Kelowna BC, Canada and learned
extremely effective injury recovery techniques. Since being a child Sherri-Anne has had a calling to
 explore the healing arts and share compassion with those in need. She currently resides in beautiful
Encinitas, CA practicing bodywork and continuing her education at the San Diego School of Healing
Arts. Her compassion for the Earth and humanity are at the essence of every healing session.
